About Us
Supporting Children and Families to meet, learn, play and grow since 1996
Here at West Chadsmoor Family Centre everyone is family. Our door is always open and everyone is always welcome. We are the little building with a massive heart on the corner of Princess Street and Lovatt Place in the heart of West Chadsmoor in Cannock Chase, Staffordshire
We set up as a community group in 1996, becoming a registered charity in 2005, to support, nurture and provide life opportunities , experiences and the best possible start in life for vulnerable and disadvantaged children aged 0-4 years and their families across Chadsmoor, Cannock and surrounds
Over the years we have, and still provide, free or low cost pre-school activities and sessions, daytrips, school holiday activities, unlimited one to one family support, information, advice and guidance, workshops, courses and social groups to support and empower our children, parents and families to meet, learn, play and grow and to be the best they can possibly be

Sessions, Groups and Activities
We feel passionately that no child should miss out on the opportunity to reach their full potential and it is with thanks to grants from our funders that we are able to provide a range of low cost or free, fun, educational and developmental Family Worker led sessions and activities for our children and their parents. Open Tuesday to Friday during term time (days and times vary during school holidays) we guarantee you, your child(ren) and family a warm and friendly welcome and offer a range of different groups and opportunities for families to meet, learn, play and grow.

One to One Family Support
Being a parent is the best job in the world but it can also be one of the most difficult. Unfortunately our little people do not come with an instruction manual! As parents (and grandparents) ourselves we have all experienced times when it can all feel a little bit too much. When we doubt ourselves, feel overwhelmed by the pressures and responsibilities placed upon us or when life throws an unexpected curve ball at us. Our fabulous Family Community Worker can be there to help, support, guide and provide a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on and some much needed support for as little or as long as you need.

Adult Community Learning
At West Chadsmoor Family Centre we believe that learning is not only for the little people and that it should be fun and not always just about words and numbers. Its scientifically proven that we learn quicker and easier when we are doing what we enjoy and that we is why we offer a range of adult vocational and interactive workshops and sessions from aromatherapy, art and crafts through to English and Maths and everything else in between. Not only can you learn new skills, you can also make new friends, grow in confidence and self-esteem and all in a fun and supportive environment.

Community Table
Open to anyone in our community
who may be in need of a little extra support. Free to access. Available every Wednesday (times and days may differ during school holidays) from 11am to 12 Midday.

We are very excited and happy to share with you all our new timetable for November 2023
We have made sure that we have a mix of drop in and bookable sessions (bookable sessions enable us to ensure we have sufficient resources available) and with thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund are still able to offer most of these for free.

On 22nd June we welcomed Gemma Rhodes @gemmarhodesmakatontutor to deliver the first part of our Level One Makaton qualification. Developed in 1972 by Margaret Walker, Kathy Johnson and Tony Cornforth Makaton assists young children of all ages and abilities to develop their language and speech skills and to provide an effective form of communication for children who experience barriers to communicating their needs and wants. We all cannot wait for session two next week and look forward to developing workshops for parents and children over the coming months
